Pacifico is a powerful left over reef in northern Siargao, about an hour’s drive north of General Luna. The main wave, also called Big Wish, is for advanced surfers. Access is by paddling from the beach.

The wave

This is a left-hand reef break with power behind it. Fat Lips rates the main wave Advanced. The reef bottom and the force of the wave matter when deciding whether it fits your experience.

The name Pacifico can appear in broader descriptions of places to learn around the island. Here, it refers specifically to the main Pacifico or Big Wish wave. That distinction matters when arranging a session: ask which break the booking actually involves.

Who it’s for

Consider the main wave if you already have experience on powerful reef breaks. A first lesson belongs at a softer spot chosen for the conditions. Around General Luna, Jacking Horse is an option with a coach.

For another left, compare Tuason, which is fast and very shallow. Cloud 9 is a hollow right for experienced surfers. Direction alone is not enough to choose between them.

Getting there

Allow roughly an hour to drive north from General Luna, then paddle out from the beach. Plan the drive as part of the session, including the return. Pacifico takes more travel time than a walk-in break around General Luna.

When it works

Our spot overview lists October to December as Pacifico’s season. Across Siargao, the main swell season starts around late September or October and continues into early December. Check the swell and wind before making the drive; a month on the calendar cannot tell you how the wave will break that day.

Is Pacifico good for beginner surfers?

The main Pacifico wave, also called Big Wish, is an advanced break. Its powerful left over reef is unsuitable for a first lesson. Beginner sessions need a different spot chosen by a coach.
