Quiksilver is a fast right over reef beside Cloud 9 in General Luna, Siargao. It is an advanced spot, reached with a paddle from the tower. Its position beside a well-known wave can make it easy to find, but the surfing demands experience.

The wave

Fat Lips describes Quiksilver as faster and more technically difficult than Cloud 9. The bottom is reef, and the speed is part of what makes this a demanding wave. Treat descriptions of it as a sandy beginner break with caution.

The main description is a right. One secondary source also mentions lefts, but that difference does not change the advanced rating used here.

Who it’s for

Quiksilver suits advanced surfers. For a first lesson in this area, Jacking Horse is a place to consider with a coach when conditions fit.

Since July 2025, beginner lessons have been prohibited at Cloud 9. Published reports do not extend that rule to Quiksilver. Wave difficulty is a separate reason to choose somewhere else for learning; our Cloud 9 beginner guide explains the rule.

Getting there

Walk to the Cloud 9 tower, then paddle left. There is no boat transfer to arrange for this route. Check the wave with a local coach before paddling out, especially if this is your first visit.

When it works

Quiksilver is mainly a swell-season option. Siargao’s main season runs from late September through November into early December. March to May can bring a smaller second season, with flat spells possible. Those island-wide patterns are a starting point for planning; the day’s conditions still decide the session.
